Sharon working on Moon Child in her studio.

My visual guide to make art is nature in all its transformative energy and guises: earth, light, color, wind, water are present in my imagery. Each step along the creative path reveals a new insight and takes form in my artwork.

I work and teach at the Metro Community College Weld Lab, cutting and welding steel. These forms I take back to my studio where they are developed further with other mediums of wood, fused glass, copper and found objects, creating a unique juxtaposition to the steel.

I add depth to the surface with paint and transparent patinas and varied finishes that bring together all the mediums into one final sculpture.
